Intimate, Considered, Distinctly Balinese

Adi Tax 1 sits within the verdant interior of Bali at coordinates that place it equidistant from the cultural richness of Ubud and the coastal energy of Sanur. The property is designed for two, which means every spatial decision — from the proportions of the bedroom to the flow between indoor and outdoor living — has been made with a couple or solo traveller in mind rather than scaled up for group convenience.

Bali's tropical vernacular informs the architecture throughout. Locally sourced volcanic stone, hand-finished timber, and woven alang-alang grass or clay roof tiles are the materials language that connects the structure to its landscape. Natural ventilation is prioritised so that the interior temperature follows the rhythm of the day: cool in the morning, warmed by afternoon light, and softened by evening breezes that carry the scent of frangipani and damp earth.

The neighbourhood surrounding Adi Tax 1 belongs to the quieter inland parishes of southern Bali, where narrow lanes lead past family compounds, small warungs, and terraced rice paddies that remain actively farmed. This is not a resort corridor — it is a residential community that welcomes visitors who prefer texture and authenticity over sanitised convenience. Morning walks reveal daily offerings being placed at compound gates; evenings bring the sound of gamelan rehearsals drifting from nearby banjar halls.

Practically, the villa is well-positioned for both self-sufficiency and exploration. Grocery options, local warung dining, and transport connections are accessible within minutes. The GPS coordinates place you within easy reach of Bali's main southern arteries, making day trips to Canggu, Seminyak, or Kuta entirely feasible while returning each evening to the stillness that defines this address.

Spaces Designed for Two

Master Bedroom

King or double bed · garden or pool outlook · natural ventilation

The primary sleeping space is proportioned for two, with locally crafted timber furniture, woven textiles, and blackout capability for deep afternoon rest. Natural light enters through louvred timber panels on at least two aspects.

Open Living Area

Indoor-outdoor flow · lounge seating · ceiling fan

A generous transition zone between interior and garden, furnished with low-profile seating and a ceiling fan that handles Bali's midday heat without mechanical cooling. The space is oriented to catch prevailing breezes.

Private Outdoor Garden

Walled garden · sun loungers · tropical planting

A fully enclosed garden with mature tropical planting provides privacy and shade. Stone pathways connect the living area to the outdoor dining and lounge zones, all screened from neighbouring properties.

Kitchen and Dining

Full kitchen · dining for two · local stone surfaces

A compact but fully equipped kitchen with stone or terrazzo surfaces, a two-burner or larger hob, refrigerator, and filtered water. Dining for two is integrated into the kitchen or adjacent open-air space.

Bathroom

Indoor-outdoor bathroom · rain shower · stone basin

The bathroom draws on Balinese resort design: a rain shower, hand-finished stone or terrazzo basin, and generous natural light. An open-sky or garden-facing element connects bathing to the landscape.

How the Days Unfold at Adi Tax 1

You arrive in the late afternoon when the light turns amber and the air carries just enough warmth to slow you down. The entrance opens into a transition between outside and in that feels considered rather than abrupt — tropical planting, stone underfoot, and the immediate absence of noise from the road.

Morning begins early here, as it does across Bali. Light enters the bedroom through timber-louvred openings before the heat of the day builds. Coffee or tea to start, taken in the outdoor space where the garden shows its full depth in morning shadow and low-angle sun. There is no pressure to be anywhere quickly. The rhythm of the property encourages a slower pace — a shower, a stretch, a walk into the lane to see the neighbourhood begin its day with offerings and incense.

By mid-morning you might drive to one of the nearby cultural landmarks or arrange a scooter hire for a more independent exploration of the surrounding parishes. Lunch at a local warung is always the right decision — small family-run kitchens serving nasi campur, soto ayam, and fresh sambal within walking or riding distance of the villa.

Afternoons return you to the property when the heat peaks. This is the time for the pool if available, for reading in a shaded corner, or simply for doing very little with intention. The villa holds the afternoon heat pleasantly without becoming oppressive, and the cross-ventilation means fans are often sufficient. As the sun drops, the garden enters its most atmospheric hour — golden light on stone, the sound of birds resettling, the air cooling by several degrees. Dinner can be had locally or prepared in the kitchen, and evenings end quietly under a sky that, away from resort lighting, still holds stars.
